The Broadleaf wrapper, specially selected for the Santa Damiana Vintage Maduro, grew "sun grown" on the factory's own plantation in the Connecticut Valley. The sweetness that is characteristic of this maduro wrapper develops through the sun ripening.
Maduro is the Spanish term for "mature" and refers to the particularly long storage time that this wrapper is allowed during the natural fermentation process.
