Barling Pipes

Barling
In 1812, the silversmith Benjamin Barling founded his small factory in the elegant Marylebone district of London. There he decorated the meerschaum pipes of his select customers with sophisticated applications, and after winning numerous awards, he quickly made a name for himself far beyond the city limits. The works he designed can be identified by the hallmark BB.
His sons William (hallmark WB) and Edward (EB) followed in his footsteps. In the 1850s they expanded their range to include pipes made of briar wood, which they acquired in various factories in the French pipe stronghold of St. Claude. The expensive root wood caused a sensation in smoking circles because it was extremely heat-resistant and had a pleasant taste.
In 1906 the family finally decided to turn their own heads in order to keep all work steps under their own control. She even acquired a stake in an Algerian briar trade.

In 2020, Oliver Kopp succeeded in acquiring the European naming rights from E.A. Carey, and for the USA from Cem Muckenbrun, owner of the old importer James Norman.
The Kopp family is proud to have the oldest existing name in the pipe world in their portfolio.
It is your duty to resurrect the myth. The best quality, English classics and exquisite silver work should reflect the core of the brand.
