Alec Rubin, born in the 1960s, launched the brand in 1996 after Hurricane Andrew swept through the country in the 90s and also affected his parents' business. In 1996 the old company was sold and the proceeds served as start-up capital for his Cigar Company, which Alec Rubin named after his two sons: Alec and Bradley.
The founder's sons are now both working in the company.
