Can a good thing be made even better? Habanos S.A. asks itself this question. every year when releasing cigars from the Reserva and Gran Reserva lines. A format of these two lines appears alternately year after year.
Now we are witnessing the introduction of the Montecristo Edmundo Reserva. Montecristo is probably the best known and most popular Habanos brand in the world. One of their most prized vitolas is the Montecristo Edmundo. It was released in 2004 and within a few years has acquired the reputation of a “must have” Habano that belongs in the humidor of every Habanos lover.
This modern classic is now available in a special edition of just 5,000 high-gloss black lacquered boxes. They hold 20 of these wonderful cigars with the production name Edmundo (135 mm, ring gauge 52). Each one has a gold plaque bearing the crate's individual number.
All tobaccos - the silky shimmering wrapper, the binder and the filler - come from the 2018 harvest. That's why this Reserva has the addition "Cosecha 2018" in its name. It goes without saying that only the best tobaccos from top Vuelta Abajo plantations were selected for their blend. A strict selection process began on the plantations. Whether during the drying, the first and second fermentation, the sorting and classification, the ripening storage and ultimately the rolling in the factory: the Vegueros and Tabaqueros always selected only the best tobacco leaves. And only the best torcedores of the highest, ninth category, used them with skillful hands to create these limited masterpieces for Habanos lovers and collectors.
