The Romeo y Julieta Amantes are the birthday present of Habanos for the brand's 150th anniversary.
They have the rarely manufactured format “Sobresalientes” with a length of 153 mm and a ring size of 53. By the way, the Spanish word ‘sobresaliente’ means ‘outstanding’ and thus already points to the claim of this edition. The sales name (vitola de salida) “Amantes” (in German: lover) refers to the literary background of the Romeo y Julieta brand. The cigar ring, designed exclusively for this format, refers to the 150. Anniversary of the world-famous Habanos brand. To protect the delicate cover sheet, the Amantes carry a second ring with the name of the format and the brand at the foot of the cigars.
The Amantes are packaged in elaborately crafted wooden boxes of simple elegance. Painted in a warm reddish brown and provided with metallic inlays, they present the brand's anniversary logo. The Romeo y Julieta Amantes only come on sale for a short time in a limited edition, making it a sought-after object for Habanos lovers and collectors. 
Like all formats of the brand, they are rolled as a longfiller after the production method – totalmente a mano – which has been common in Cuba for centuries. The tobaccos used are from the world-famous Vuelta Abajo region in western Cuba.
