Rebirth and Triumph: Like a Phoenix from the Ashes The tobacco tradition of the MEERAPFEL family extends to 15. century back. In 1744, Meir II MEERAPFEL built the very first SEA APPLE cigar manufactory in the Baden Untergrombach, which laid the foundation for today's MMS (MEERAPFEL Cigar Manufacture). In the early years of the 20. For a century, Ernest ventured out of the familiar surroundings of Untergrombach to revolutionize the tobacco world and return the sacred leaf from previously unknown climes. The precious leaves from Indonesia evolved over time to become the most sought-after cover sheets for cigars around the world. Until 1933, the company Maier Meerapfel & Söhne became the leading address when it came to cover sheets from Java and Sumatra. Meanwhile, Heller MEERAPFEL went to Cuba. Due to the tragic events of the Second World War, the MEERAPFEL family, like so many others, lost their entire property. During this bleak time, Heller developed a close bond with the young Che Guevara and eventually became the largest exporter of Cuban tobacco in history. In the 1960s, Richard first went to Cameroon in his young life and lost his heart to the country and his people. Richard created the wonder of Cameroonian tobacco and established unique bonds with local farmers, families and communities. In doing so, he not only laid the foundation for the most valuable and sacred leaf, but also brought unprecedented opportunities, hope and salvation for the inhabitants of Central Africa and Cameroon. The cigar boom of the 1980s is firmly based on the most valuable and sacred leaf from Cameroon, which is considered the most exquisite and precious cover page. In the 1990s, a coup in the Central African Republic put the dream to the test, and the family was dispossessed. Once again, as so often in the eventful history of the SEA APPLES, they faced the loss of everything they had. Another bitter blow was the sudden and far too early death of the family patriarch, the father of the MEERAPFEL family and the company. The difficult and demanding legacy seemed overpowering for the brothers Jeremiah and Joshua. Still, they tackled this challenge with a remarkable resilience, strength and bravery that few people can muster. They deployed all their commitment to rebuild the company and continue the legacy with pride.
