The short fillers, also known as European cigars, are much more than the “little brothers” of the long-filler cigars. In contrast to the Caribbean region, in Europe tobaccos from different growing regions are traditionally mixed together so that the desired character is achieved. Shortfiller cigars are composed with a lot of know-how, which has the advantage of a constant flavor and an even aroma progression.
The processed tobacco does not differ fundamentally from the long fillers in terms of quality. Shortfiller cigars also consist of very high-quality tobacco leaves, which are cut and shortened during the manufacturing process in order to use them to make smaller cigars. This tobacco mixture makes up the so-called filler, which is wrapped in a sturdy binder. The resulting “wrap” is then rolled into an even wrapper.
